oh! and...

it was interesting to talk to my french doctor about achieving svr...
of course he's gone into plastic surgery so isn't completely up on the latest achievements of tx but was so impressed that i'd cleared completely, especially as he's lost a friend to hepC.
but, also interesting is that he'd been a testee for drug trials of interferon when he was a poor med student - and he remembers horridly how sick he was and he never did drug trials after that!

another interesting snippet is that my french doc feels that when he is ill that he is more achey than is normal - and he still blames this on the interferon trials he did years ago.

hmmm...makes sense to me!
i'm alot more achey than i ever was before tx.

one more day

i should really be packing to go see fishie right now but just soo tired from work that all i've managed to do is drink the rest of the pink wine left over from last night and text my nice punker ex...the one that also has hepC...i've still got his dogtags and i really want to return them to him before we both die - we both seem to be on the same self-destruction course right now.

i'm actually quite a mess and have double taken my prozac again to try to help me through the evening so i can hold it together long enough to pack...

worried as i'm quickly running out of my anti-d's and it's getting more and more difficult to get my rx for them. i might txt my hep nurse tomro and tell her i'm in a bad place to see if she can help me. fingers crossed.

and 6 months blood test first thing monday morning!

did it.

just got home from getting the blood drawn for my 3 month post-txpcr to see if i' still clear.
weird. i'm alot more stressed about this test result than i have been for any of my other hcv tests. guess because now i know what all the consequences are if i'm not. hopefully i'll get my results quickly - my lovely hepnurse said she'd call me next week when back from vacation...

*pray*

really really should go to the gym tonight.
need to try out my new purple nike zooms!
but the weather is poo, and i'm still feeling weak from last week/end so instead will probably stay home, keep warm, and do some yoga.

yes, we should be the next new medical cash cow!

i read alot of articles online that are related to hepC and sometimes they really hit home with me, but for some reason today, one of them has really stopped me in my tracks. it was this statement that did it:

" On a world-wide basis, there are an estimated 180 million people who are chronically infected with HCV, with an estimated three to four million individuals newly infected each year. The prevalence of Hepatitis C infection is estimated to be four times that of HIV around the world."

wow. now that is starting to put it into perspective isnt it?

i remember when the 1 in 12 campaign was running, i told a friend and they wouldn't believe me - saying that would mean like every person in america was infected....well if they shipped us all off to a tropical island to do treatment then maybe that is how big it would need to be!

girlie stuff that actually isn't about BLOOD

more mini ranting on the way...

well kinda.

or maybe it's just guilt?

i went to the invitation-only chloe sale down by south molton street in mayfair this last week and scored myself THE bag of last season...that is soooo me! yes.
THE bright orange heloise bag!

how good will that look with a pair of pink knickers???

love it but also feel so bad about it. i know i work hard and really deserve it as spending nothing on anything else but nice aveda shampoos for my horridbly thinning hair (i pulled it backin a ponytail at the gym and you can see my scalp on the sides! i wanted to cry!) and not even touched my huge xmas bonus or the even bigger yearly salary increase i received way back in feb...

how amazed i still am that my company made such a commitment to me at the same time that i was starting treatment. gotta love them!

anyway - i really want a girlie gossip about my handbag and shopping as therapy for fucking hepC chemo like disgusting treatment...but when i went on the boards last night everyone was discussing how broke they were and i felt so bad. i'd love to help everyone out, but it's not really my place...or is it?

anway. i'm going to go ahead and have my girlie gossip here...i paid 200 hundred something for a bag that retailed for over a grand and is on ebay right now for double that!!!! whohooo...now only wish i'd bought the charcoal greay one as well!

and next week...the valentino sale.

o shit there is a myla online sale today i better go clickety click as they are one of the few manufacturers of bras big enough for my titties!!!

first day back

so i made it through my first day back at work after vacation/startin treatment and i'm even entertaining the thought of a bit of gym later on...that is if there is still time after i go round the shops near here to look for some new bedside lamps. i've never ever been a good sleeper, even with the exhaustion of hepC - but now i seem to be really erratic - so i need some nice new bedside lamps to allow me to switch on and read while remaining all warm and cuddly in my bed with the fiance...

...that's until i find a nice pink nintendoDS!
